Big Horn River, Montana – Day 3 (the finale)
The last day of our trip. We woke up to a blue sky and 15 deg. Denice, Ashley and Amber prepared a delicious breakfast for us that loaded our bellies for the day. We suited up for the final attack on the Big Horn. Paul’s wade boots were still frozen from the previous day. So, like any logical man, he took them to the kitchen and defrosted them in the sink with warm water. Denice was furious. Sorry Paul I took the picture. I didn’t know you were going to get busted. Big Horn River, Montana – Day 2
After a good night sleep we awoke to a warm -1 deg. After a careful consideration of weather we decided to have a late breakfast and let the air warm up. When 3 deg appeared on the weather station we all suited up (2 pr of wool socks, wool long under ware, fleece body suite, down vest, cotton gloves covered with rubber gloves and wool gloves over it all). Big Horn River, Montana – Day 1
Since our river closed, Jeff Lyman and I took off for Montana to fish the Big Horn River with our buddy Paul Garrison form the Big Horn River Outfitters. We left Seattle and headed into an adventure. With warm temps around 40 – 50 deg last week in Montana we were excited to warm up and catch some fish. We landed in Billings and Paul picked us up at the airport. We grabbed some food and wine and head to Fort Smith. Continue reading
